THE GYPSY DEVILS - SARKOZI

The impressive man with the French president´s name, the phenomenal Slovak dulcimer player Ernest Sarkozi presents you his band, the Gypsy Devils - The Roma musicians, who won in 1998 in Poland the title of the best Gypsy band in the world. The "Devils" with Ernest Sarkozi at the helm are presenting a selection of the very best from their repertoire, in which will be featured along with Gypsy songs also stirring renditions of Yiddish, Russian, Slovak, classical and jazz compositions. The high point of a Gypsy Devils Orchestra performance is always the showman stylings of Ernest Sarkozi, who has brought audiences to rapture all around the world.

History
In August 2007 begins a new chapter of the most famous Slovak gypsy band – The Devil´s violin. After the departure of one of its musicians, the remaining 7 members adopted a new name – The Gypsy Devils, with a new solo violin, the young virtuoso Stefan Banyák. This „re-branding“ provoked a huge interest of medias and public. Stunning performances of Ernest Šarközi, the cymbalo magician, beautiful violoncello collors of his wife Silvia, or the clarinet mastership of Zoltan Grunza will continue to amaze the public.

Gypsy Devils is not only a new name of a well known group. Gypsy Devils will offer original compositions, daring arrangements, unseen musical combinations and a brand new image. Tradition is joined by musical experiments.

'Gypsy Devils' cooperates with some of the greatest, orchestras, conductors, singers and instrumentalists of different styles of music - Gypsy Kings (video), Bettina Castaňo-Flamenco group , Cyprus Symphony Orchestra r-Nicosia , Philharmonic Orchestra Bohuslava Martinů- Zlín , Moravská Philharmonic Orchestra - Olomouc , Philharmonic Orchestra - Košice , Symphony Radio Orchestra - Bratislava , A. Podařil , P. Breiner , K. Kevický , L. Bílá, P. Dvorský, D. Hulka, I. Csáková, S. Sklovská, P. Habera, K. Hasprová, ... with whom they participated in many concerts, CD recordings and TV shows.

The Gypsy Devils orchestra is considered by the musical critics as one of the best ethno and world music group in the world and is very much appreciated by the general public as well. The evidence is dozens of thousands CDs sold every year, and achievement of 2 gold and 2 platinum awards.
