She was born on 31.5.1955 in Cihangir, Istanbul. At a very young age, when she was studying at Italian College, she performed at the contest of the voice which was organized by “Haftasonu Gazetesi” and she was awarded her first prize by the common decision of Þehrazat, Ajda Pekkan and Alpay.

1972: Her professional musical career began with her first record “Kalbim Bir Pusula”. Dany Grunberg, the owner of the Odeon record company, declared that she was a “Real Diva”.

1973: She recorded her second album “Dünya Dönüyor” and she gained award within the context of “the Female Singer of the Year”.

1974: She performed on the stage for the first time in Izmir Festival. She recorded two albums which were called “Baþýma Gelenler” and “Al Beni,Çal Beni”. Moreover, her first longplay, ”Nilüfer”, was released in this year.

1975: She sang the song of Nino Varan, “Boþver”, for Turkey selections of “Eurovision Song Contest” but because of the speculations about the melody, she had to leave from the contest.

1976: She recorded “Of Aman Aman”. As well as this, her longplay “Selam Söyle” was released.

1977: She recorded “Kim Arar Seni”.

1978: Her longplays “Music” and “Nilüfer 15 Þarký” were released.

1983: She recorded “Sensiz Olmaz”.

1984: She sang the song of Kayahan, which was “Kar Taneleri”, in her album “Nilüfer 84”.

1985: She performed her own song, “Erkekler Aðlamaz”, in her album “Bir Selam Yeter”.

1986: She came first in the 'International Mediterranean Song Contest' by singing the song of Kayahan, “Geceler”, in Aspendos, Antalya.

1987: She recorded “Geceler”.

1989: She recorded “Esmer Güller”.

1991: She recorded “Sen Mühimsin”.

1992: She recorded “Yine Yeni Yeniden”. Furthermore, in 1992 she began doing some works which were related to UNICEF and performed at numerous concerts. For instance, she gave a huge concert which was organized for the benefit of Bosnian children.

1994: She recorded “Ne Masal Ne Rüya”.

1997: She recorded “Nilüfer'le”. She was declared as “Unicef Goodwill Rep.” on 14.11.1997.

1998: She arranged and offered the songs again which were performed between the years of 1972-

1980 by her,for her album “Yediden Yetmiþe”.

1999: She was named as "State Artist".
